At Ayaterra, you can experience both Ayahuasca and San Pedro in a carefully structured and intentional retreat. While these traditional plant medicines can complement one another, we believe it is important to work with them in the right sequence and allow enough time for rest and integration between ceremonies.

Our 5-Day Ayahuasca & San Pedro Retreat is designed to provide that space. We begin with Ayahuasca ceremonies on the first two evenings, followed by a full day of rest and integration on Day 3. On Day 4, we hold our final Ayahuasca ceremony. The retreat concludes on Day 5 with a San Pedro ceremony, after which we provide transportation back to Cusco. Ayahuasca ceremonies are held indoors in a quiet, protected setting during the evening. San Pedro, also known as Wachuma, is experienced during the daytime and may include time outdoors and gentle walks in nature.

We find San Pedro to be a meaningful way to conclude the retreat after working with Ayahuasca. Following the introspective nature of the Ayahuasca ceremonies, San Pedro offers a different experience—one centered on presence, openness, and connection with the natural world.

In the Andean tradition, San Pedro is associated with a deep connection to Pachamama (Mother Earth) and the life force present throughout nature. The experience can invite us to reconnect with our own inner strength and see ourselves as part of something greater. It reminds us that we belong, that we have a place in this world, and that we are part of the natural balance that connects all living things.

Arrival, Andean Preparation & Ayahuasca Ceremony

Our team will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and transfer you to the Ayaterra retreat center in the Sacred Valley.

10:00 – Welcome to Ayaterra & Facility Orientation

Meet the Ayaterra team and receive an introduction to the retreat center, ceremonial spaces, accommodation, and facilities.

10:30 – Introduction Meeting with Staff & Shamans

Meet our shamans (Maestros) and retreat team. We will explain the retreat program, the ceremonies, and important recommendations for the days ahead.

11:30 – Andean Elements Unification Ceremony

Participate in a traditional Andean preparation ceremony using coca leaves to connect with the Andean elements and prepare for the retreat.

11:45 – Private Coca Leaf Reading

A personal coca leaf reading with our Andean shaman, offering traditional guidance and insight before the ceremonies.

13:30 – Kuti Energetic Alignment Ceremony

A traditional Andean energetic alignment performed by the Andean shaman to prepare and balance your energy.
