Ayahuasca Peru experience. When one participate in an Ayahuasca retreat, they are exposed in a strong manner to a radical system shift. So each person’s experience will be unique and specific to them.

The quality of this experience depends on the success of the person’s preparation work, commitment, and openness to receiving the Ayahuasca.

It’s known that people all over the globe are seeking alternative, human-touch approaches to emotional issues or just the desire to meet Ayahuasca. Some are finding that conventional methods are not as effective as they would like. For this reason, the use of Ayahuasca has risen dramatically over the last few years.

Ayahuasca is a psychoactive plant-based substance that ignites an experience of personal and spiritual transformation. The brew is a mixture of two medicinal plants; the Chacruna plant, and the Ayahuasca vine. Its main psychoactive compound is DMT.

Ayahuasca enters the body with the mission of aiding healing, awakening, facing buried traumas, or certain experiences that require your full respect and courage to travel through.

An Ayahuasca retreat is normally held at nighttime and is always lead by a native Ayahuasca shaman. The Ayahuasca shaman provides the brew to the participant based on the coordinator’s recommendation and other diagnostic methods. Participant sets intentions and takes a few moments to ask what they need the Ayahuasca. Note that at any time during the ceremony or after the initial 30 minutes of the first dose. Note that the participant may be administered a second or third dose.

40 minutes to 1 hour upon drinking the Ayahuasca, the medicine starts to take effect and may come in waves throughout the ceremony.

Some senses can be heightened with Ayahuasca one can express:

Physically: vomiting, visiting the toilet, trembling, feeling the need to move, dancing, etc.

Emotionally: laughing, euphoria, crying, yelling: (sadness, overwhelm, anger)

Spiritually: energetic sensitivities, “traveling”, visions, feeling of spiritual reconnection

Mentally: Racing thoughts, lack of focus, feeling the loss of control, confusion, a lot of stimuli at once

An Ayahuasca ceremony can be really taxing, but all healing traditions do take effort on the part of the participant. Throughout an Ayahuasca ceremony, one can feel the biological defenses go down and the psyche is almost naked. One can also have these intense moments of acceptance of yourself, of the truth you know inside. Consequently participating in an Ayahuasca ceremony is a rebirth, as seen in the hatching egg imagery, like the snake shedding its skin.

Ayahuasca Peru experience. Before experiencing a retreat it’s important to have a previous conversation with the ceremony supplier because they are responsible for determining if you can safely take it.

The conversation helps manage some expectations and understand the roles and responsibilities of the Shaman, the coordinator, and the participant. So you know who is assisting you and how.
